Sumerian Specialty Coffee was founded in 2011 with the mission to offer freshly roasted, specialty coffee in China.
To experience coffee in it’s fullest it can only be tasted. Our café is a place to come explore coffee with a relaxed California atmosphere in the heart of Jing’an District. We keep a selection of in-house roasted single origin coffees and blends to enjoy via drip bar, espresso, cold brewed, or even kegged. The café is a great place to engage with a mix of locals and expats who all share a passion for quality and curiosity for coffee.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings groups are able to schedule a cupping class, which is a guided tour through our single origin coffees. We snip, slurp, and discuss what gives different regions unique flavor profiles. We teach about processing methods, roasting levels, blending practices, along with any other topics may come up. Throughout the week come by for lunch, kick back morning or afternoon with a bold filtered coffee or a smooth velvety cappuccino or pick up fresh roasted beans to enjoy at work or at home.
